City of Reading, Ohio, The Crossroads of Opportunity

Gas Aggregation Letter

The City has secured an aggregation rate that is fixed for gas usage at $0.5894 per ccf starting with your November 2024 Bill and continuing for one year through October 2025. The attached letter will be mailed to all eligible households and businesses. As a reminder, City of Reading’s residents voted to aggregate its gas usage and the City of Reading receives no compensation or benefit for this program. The sole purpose is to provide a fixed rate for the consumption of portion of your bill that will be at or below Duke’s, especially during the cold winter months when gas usage is highest. There is no fee if you opt out. Please know despite what you may read on social media that you are NOT being billed double with the aggregation program. You can contact the city at (513) 733-3725 or pross@readingohio.org. In addition the Energy Alliances team can be reached at (513) 794-5555 M-F 8AM – 4:30PM to answer any other questions or issues you may have.

This letter is only for the GAS program has NO impact on the existing ELECTRIC Aggregation rate that has been in effect Since June of 2023 and ends in May of 2025. That rate currently is $0.0681 per kWh. On the most recent billing statement for August, Duke's rate is $0.0801. Based on this for every 1000 kWh the city’s rate would cost you $68.10 and Duke’s rate would cost $80.10.
